Import

You can import Netscape bookmark files in your PIP page.

Also most other HTML files can be imported this way.

Before you can import Internet Explorer Favorites, you have to convert them first to a (Netscape) HTML format.

During the import process you are offered the opportunity to regroup and/or partly discard the links.

Watch out: if you try to import a large number of favorites (many hundreds or more), there is a change that your browser (on Windows) gets into trouble, caused by the big and complex page.
So if you have many, clean up your bookmarks before you are going to import them.

Internet Explorer

From IE version 5 on, you can export your favorites to a HTML page:

1. Select the option Import and export... in the file menu.
2. The 'Import/export wizard' will be started. Click on Next.
3. Select Export Favorites and click on Next.
4. Select the folder you want to export from and click again on Next.
5. Select Export to a File or Address and enter the filename of the file you want to export to, e.g. 'c:\temp\topip.html'.
6. Click on Next and then Finish to complete the export.

Now you have a file (HTML Page) with the favorites you want to import.
You can check this file by opening it in your browser.

Later on, if you want to import bookmarks to you PIP page, you have to enter this file being the 'Bookmark file' asked for.

NB: if you're using an older version of IE, you need a tool to convert you IE Favorites to Netscape bookmarks. There are many of those available on the internet. Or ... this might be a good moment to upgrade your browser :).

Mozilla/Netscape 6+

Select the option Import on your PIP page. Then enter the Netscape bookmark file, being the 'Bookmark file' asked for.

Netscape version 6+ stores its bookmarks in a file called 'bookmarks.html'. The location varies, so you might have to search your computer.

Other browsers

Export the bookmarks to a (Netscape format) HTML file and import this.
